Re: New exhaust

Quirien,

I have the aluminum performance exhaust on my Y2K ST. In terms of
performance and sound, both the CF and aluminum are identical since they
have the same internals: only the external wrap is different. So, it comes
down to your preference of appearance.

With regards to the difference over the stock exhaust system, I can not
notice any difference in performance, but the sound is somewhat mellower and
a bit louder, but not hugely so. It is not nearly as significant as the
changes I have noted when changing the stock exhaust on other bikes (fitting
Termignoni CF pipes on my Ducati, for example). The Triumph change is much
more subtle.

IMHO, if you have the panniers fitted, the exhaust is mostly hidden from
view so appearance is less of an issue. Given that the performance
improvement is negligible, it basically comes down to the mellower sound.
If I had to do it over again, I would probably spend the money on
improvements to the suspension rather than buying the exhaust system.
That's my opinion - others may disagree. Just don't expect a huge
difference over the stock exhaust.

Hope this helps . . .
