I got an overall average of just over 60 IMPERIAL mpg on a recent trip (high
was 66 and low was 55). This was a mixed bag of riding conditions (mountain
climbs, spirited twisties, and h/w cruising). Sustained highway speeds were
no more than 70 - 80 mph as most speed limits are either 60 or 70 mph
(actually 100 or 110 kph). This was a solo ride and I packed both panniers
and a third bag that was strapped to my top rack. Around town I get more
like 50 MPG.
