I lowered the shift lever via the adjusting rod
made a difference in shifting on my RS.  Its probably
the leverage I get out of it.  I only have 5K miles on
it and I only have a difficult shifting from 1st to
2nd the first time (so I'm always aware what's around
me when I do it the first time).
