This is as bad a those "virus warnings" that constantly flood my in-box
warning of hard drive deletions.....
For all you know this ticket never happened - just someone that has an ax
to grind or wanted to stir things up a bit.
The attitude shown towards law enforcement in the subsequent posts has been
amazing. There are good and bad in many fields - law enforcement included,
but to degrade all law enforcement for the actions of a few is wrong and in
my view pretty pathetic.
For those of you complaining about tickets, the solution is simple - stop
breaking the law. Every time I exceed the speed limit or go dragging
through a corner, I realize that my actions may result in a ticket. If,
after getting pulled over, I don't show the officer the respect due the
position, I would expect that I might not receive the same treatment that I
might by being respectful.
I know a lot of law enforcement so maybe I am biased. I know officers that
enjoy motorcycling, that will stop and talk about your bike - that will let
you off with a warning if they see you out of control.... But I also know
others that have zero tolerance for motorcycles. How many of you have seen
someone die on a motorcycle ? It only takes seeing a few of these accidents
up close, or maybe having to be the one to notify a mother that her 19 year
old just slammed his 600 into a tree...... before they don't see the
enjoyment value and only view us as an accident waiting to happen....
I am not saying that this justifies their opinion - only that maybe you
should think about what it means to be on the other side of that badge.
I don't often ask for this, but I would appreciate an immediate end to this
thread.
