Here's more grist for the mill - I needed two valves adjusted at
6K (cylinder #1 - both exhaust), none at 12K, and one at 24K
(cylinder #3 - intake valve closest to cam chain). All three had
tightened. The intake may have been my fault, though - I
accidentally crimped the rubber boot for the throttle body on that
cylinder during the 12K check, leaving a (small) path for
unfiltered air to get into the engine.
