One would expect that with the "low tech" harley design, you would
naturally have less problems. I don't get off on bashing Harleys - still
have one myself (although it is Italian made....), but my last bike from
them was a huge pile of shite.... In the two years that I owned it, I replaced:
6 cam seals
2 base gaskets
1 head (warped)
1 head (bad chrome - I know - don't even say it...)
1 ignition module
1 cam set
1 breather valve
1 battery
There was more - do I need to go on ? ....... another example - We made a
trip to Rolling Thunder X in DC - of the 16 bikes in the group that I rode
with, 8 had mechanical problems of one sort or another along the way......
