Re: Organization name, my $0.02.
While we're all trying to come up with clever ways of putting RS, ST and
Sprint into words (myself included), I got to thinking about it, and I
thought I should share it to get people thinking about it in a different
way.
Things are often branded with a name that has little to do with the item
in question, and do more to convey one aspect of the product in a very
subtle way. Think about it... Amazon.com: size; Apple Computer:
education; Triumph: victory. There are lots out there that don't seem to
convey anything, but are memorable. Nowadays, some of that has to do with
the relative lack domains available.
So what is it we want to convey with our name? Size? (We're global,
baby!); The fact that we're a Triumph group? The triple aspect? The
characther of the bikes? The fact their British? The fact that we're
about "modern" Triumphs rather than Bonnie's? It should also be fun.
People remember things that are fun, like the pets.com hand puppet.
After all that, I don't have a name suggestion. I'll leave that to
somebody more clever/creative than myself! :-)
Regards,
Gord.
