Hmmm. Very interesting. Since you've covered the yellow warning light with 
black tape, the only solution is to either:

a) have an extra long range fuel tank installed (best done by towing a fuel 
truck with a direct hose into your tank or

b) hook up a warning noise to the light. This was you can cover up the light 
with the black tape again. The noise should be audible in at least one other 
country, like an air raid siren.
