I've caught up to riders on R1's and it always looks like they're in pain.
I like the lightness of that bike on the showroom, and I like the
horsepower and torque numbers, but the bars are way too low for my back.

I'm also a former club racer, and I have found the Sprint to be an
excellent compromise between comfort and handling. As for power, all you
have to do is take a test ride on one and you'll be convinced.

In one day I test rode the Honda VTR and VFR and the Triumph. Even though
the Triumph went for a couple grand more, (3k more with the bags) I went
with it because I loved the motor. If Honda had put the VTR motor in the
VFR chassis, I might have a Honda in my garage instead of the Triumph. An
additional incentive was that after owning various Japanese bikes over the
last 20 years, I wanted something different, and that Union Jack on the
tail is pretty cool.
