Ignition disable switch

Hi all,

Back from holidaying in New Zealand and finally getting some km's up on the
new ST. I received the Throttlemeister from Eric and his Empirical Lost
Raiders (I hope they find that empire soon, we certainly need a new one...
<grin>). Thanks for organising this Eric, the throttlemeister is great!! It
looks good, is extremely well made and is a breeze to use. Thanks.

On to other matters of the anti-theft kind.... I followed the thread in the
digest about how easy it is to steal an ST (and any bike for that matter)
and I also remember the thread some time ago about how easy it is to bypass
the alarm, and I've decided it's time to fit an ignition disabling switch in
a hidden location on the bike. I fitted one of these to my GSX1100 and it
works wonderfully. I installed it in the rear cowling (or whatever you call
the plastic housing/fairing piece at the back of the bike), in a position
that can only be gotten to by unlocking and lifting the rear of the seat. So
I can reasonably surreptiously unlock the seat, ease it up an inch or so,
slip my finger under the cowling and disable the bike. Then would be thiefs
can bypass my alarm, hot wire my ignition etc. all they please and they
still won't be able to start the bike and ride it off (of course they can
always man handle it into a van - but as someone said on the list, that's
why we have insurance...).

So, (to get to my point finally), what I'm wondering is whether anyone has a
wiring diagram for the 2000 model ST that they could scan and either email
to me or better still (providing Triumph give permission) put up onto Eric's
site. That way I can determine which wire to cut and wire into the ignition
disable switch. My initial thoughts are that the engine kill switch wire
would be a good one since (as per Ross's recent posting about the kill
switch) it cuts all power to the ECM. Has anyone already done this or do any
of the other Electrical Engineers on the list have any thoughts or ideas on
this subject.

cheers and smiles,
Grunter
