First gear no problem.  Accelerate gently to 5000 rpm, then quickly
unload the throtlle to compress the fork a little, and whack the
throttle- you will have lift off.  Compressing the fork gives it just
enough spring to help bring it up when you whack the throttle.  Doesn't
work in second.  You have to keep it up through first gear and shift on
the fly to use second, (or third. or fourth, or....)
