Suspension, Washing, and MPG

FWIW, I've Race Teched my forks and went with 1kg springs and 2.5 turns on
the Emmulator. I started with the recomended 5w fork oil, but later changed
to 7w in both legs for more rebound damping. It feels pretty good now.

I got a picture of that guy Stephen was talking about washing his bike in a
downpour. I washed mine a bit while I was there (just to keep those Honda
guys drooling over the Saphire Blue), but at least I wasn't doing it in the
rain.

Incedently, I tracked about ten of my fill ups by writing down the miles
traveled on that gas. I was surprized to see the altitude didn't effect the
MPG all that much. Interesting also is that the type of riding didn't effect
it much either. My mileage ranged from almost 50 MPH down to about 42 MPG on
average. Some of this running was a lot of on-off throttle up./down
mountains and some was easy sweepers. I even ran up to Independence Pass two
up to rescue a gal pal's ST4 but the mileage only changed slightly. What did
guzzle it, though, was extended high speed. Normally I run highways at 20-25
over; that is to say 90-95 MPH. On one particular stretch, I ran about 150
miles at well over 120 MPH continously and was flat out much of the time
(about 140 MPH with the bags). Here the mileage went down to 35 MPG.

In any case, no reason for the post, just thought some of you might find it
interesting. FYI I'm running the version 9 tune with the Triumph performance
pipe and a K&N.
