Re: Dealing with garage doors?

My garage opener is a Chamberlain (there's a known brand for you). It came
with two openers and I used to keep one in the car and one in my jacket.
One day the one in my jacket came flying out while I was on 101 so I
decided to come up with a better solution. After looking at the remote I
saw that it used a 12v battery, so I wired it in under the dash and put a
radio shack button on the dash. Works great.

If the transmitter doesn't work on 12v, then I would have just run it off
of the regular battery and tucked the unit under the seat, running a wire
up to the dash with a switch. A little soldering is all it would take.

I know OSH sells transmitters that are made to work with all units. You
might look into one of those rather than tampering with the one that came
with your rental unit.
