US 441 (I'm told) has the advantage for long-distance riding of supporting
80mph between towns, and having towns at just a nice spacing to stop every 2
hours or so to stretch your legs.

Sounds perfect.

I'm planning to leave Wednesday after work, sleep in Lakeland, FL then ride
the rest of the way (460 miles or so) Thursday. I thought of pushing it all
in one day, but I decided I want to arrive well rested (relatively) to enjoy
what the committee has in store for us Friday and Saturday.

Call me a wuss if you want, but I've decided I'm going to slow down and
enjoy the ride there instead of trying for a personal distance/time record.
Or maybe I'm just getting old.

And I'm NOT looking forward to riding home on the Sunday.
