RE: touch up paint job



Jon,

Without seeing how bad the scrape is, I'd play it safe and start with a very
fine grit and work down. Maybe start with 2000 grit *wet* sandpaper. If
that's too fine, drop to 1500, then 1000. I'd be very surprised if you
needed to go lower than 800--and that would chew up your paint pretty good,
so go lightly at first.

Normally, I'd advise using a primer on the white plastic showing,
however...I just had my whole bike repainted and the painter informed me
that Triumph did not use a primer on the ST so he couldn't guarrantee the
paint wouldn't peel off the plastic, only that his paint wouldn't peel off
the Triumph paint.
