Mike and Sandi,
we have had long threads about this issue - suggest you check out the
archives
Basically, in the UK, they now come as standard with one beam (left) dipped
and one main (right) - it's not a defect, except in the sense that the
wiring has been deliberately doctored by Triumph to conform with EU
legislation - reasons explained in ST list previously (i.e. to stop alleged
confusion on the part of car-drivers mistaking two beams for a car at a
great distance).
But if you ask your dealer, he can supply two relays which will wire them
back together again - just keep an eye on your battery to make sure they
have been circuited correctly and aren't draining the power.
