The ECU was changed purely for size reasons. The old ECU did not fit on the
600 and they wanted to use 1 part for all the bikes, so the ECU was changed.

I've not said anything because I have never experienced it on mine - I have
been paying closer attention to it though since your original post, so if I
experience it, I will let you know
