Yes.  No.  Don't do it.  

Even thinking about doing it could get you in trouble.  The new MC1000 ECU 
programs were never meant to work in the older systems and in fact will not.  
Triumph does release update tunes for the older systems in concert with each 
tune revision.  The latest tune revision for all fuel injected models is 
"Tune Release 9".
