Mt. Hamilton Ride

Hello fellow riders,

I'm sure others will follow, but here's my report from today's ride.

First, it was great putting some faces to some familiar names. Thanks go
out to Paul for putting the ride together and piloting the bike-cam. I'm
sure I'm not the only one looking forward to viewing the videos. I say
videos, because Paul had a front cam and a back cam. Pretty cool set up.

I had brought my camera mount that I had worked on but didn't end up using
it since I want to test it on a smooth road for a short distance before
taking it out on a long ride.

I also brought my QuickTime VR rig and took a 360 degree group shot at the
top of Mount Hamilton. You can check it out on my Sprint ST page at:

I wasn't sure how I'd feel riding the distance since I haven't been out on
a serious ride for about two months. A little rusty, but great fun, great
weather, and great riding partners. Let's do it again soon guys!

Short list of things I learned today:

I can scratch the double bubble and performance can off of my wish list. I
just didn't notice that much difference, and I would rather spend the money
getting my wheels polished.

I now know how to pronounce Blake's last name.

Due to Blake's demonstration and remarkable recovery, I now know it is
possible to drag the side stand before hitting anything else. Track day
participants take note.

Red is definitely the fastest color, and Paul can instantly fill up your
rear views if you're not paying attention.

It's not a good idea to be watching the camera on the back of Paul's bike
while entering certain corners. (I'll be looking for that one on the tape.)
