	Here's the scoop: I went by my dealer this morning to order my new
tyres (tires for the AMericans on the list...) and asked him about it. It is
the 955i Daytona shifter. It does indeed eliminate the 3 piece linkage and does
run about $75 plus tax. While it's a good, solid part it also decreases the
distance from the footpeg to the shifter by about an inch. I figure it's gonna
be too tight for comfortable upshifts and elected to stick with the stock piece
on mine for now.
