German bike regulations

155mph (250 kph). Up until a couple (?) of years ago there was a 100bhp
(or maybe 100PS) limit on bikes in Germany. It was finally repealed,
which was when (with much fanfare) the K1200RS was launched as the first
BMW (bike) to make more than 100bhp (PS, whatever).

When I bought my 99 Sprint, it was limited to just under 100 PS (bhp) by a
small bracket which acted as a travel stop on the throttle cable. I saw it
once when I was, er, cleaning under the tank (as you do). It's just under
the air filter, in case anyone wondered, and it would take a few minutes and
a small screwdriver to get rid of it. If any of our German-based readers
were naughty enough to do such a thing. I wouldn't dream of it, of course.
