Nope, don't mean that.  I have a great advantage over a linked braking
system in that I can (and do) dynamically modify the force applied to
front and rear based on current as well as projected requirements.

Don't know about running free, but the braking force I apply to the
front does increase and the rear decreases.  Based on the way the bike
settles after I come to a full stop and let off the brakes there must
still be some braking force at the rear.
