Mark,

I had the exact same thing happen to me about 10 years ago.  Unfortunately,
though, I never checked my mirror (after all, I was sitting in the furthest
left lane) . . . Fortunately, I was in my car at the time.  I got T-boned
right in the driver's door and was lucky to not have been severely injured.
I expect I would have been killed, had I been on my bike at the time . . .
