Just a quick introduction. I purchased my '00 Blue ST in late October
and have lurked on the list now and again since. It seems to be an
informative and friendly list. I came off a VFR750 and was worried that
I might have done the wrong thing, happily, I didn't, the ST is a great
bike. The only problem I experienced (other than the fuel gauge, which I
don't count - black electrical tape until the new sender is installed)
was the impossible shift from 1st to 2nd. I leave my neighborhood onto
a main thoroughfare ( it resembles the Indy 500 time trials), not being
able to easily shift into a getaway gear was dicey, however, after 1500
miles, it eased a bit. When I was in Daytona, I talked to Shell Barr
from Triumph Motorcycles, he said it was common and the fix was FYI " to
get in the gear box and put an extra washer on the neutral switch, same
as the one already there." I didn't do it, so I can't give you first
hand results. I warm up the bike facing North(what???). Mr. Barr also
said he would snail mail the correct 2000 ST fuse schematics, I'll
forward it when I receive it. Just thought I'd pass that on, enjoy the
wonderful Spring riding weather. Be safe.
Cheryl
