RE: Fuel Tank Pressure Release

I've just noticed that on my '00 ST this week. Not as strong as you
described, but a high vacuum built up none the less, you hear the pressure
release easily wearing the helmet. This is the first time I've noticed any
kind of vacuum being exerted against the cap.
Does temp and/or humidity play a factor here?

Subject: Fuel Tank Pressure Release

Was riding with a friend who has new 2000 ST,
and when he went to open the tank to fuel up we
got sprayed with gas due to pressure build up in the
tank. Has the release valve been a problem on this
bike? Any information you folks can provide would be
a big help.

Thanks,
