Re: headlamp / HID system

Last year I put the H.I.D. kit in on my 900RR both lights cost me 600. and
change. Looks very cool and works quite well even without a highbeam option.
I wouldn't spend 600. again to do my ST. If the price comes down by 50% I'll
first in line.

<< if i remember correctly just short of 400USD. in my eyes this is worth
it.
i had my high beams on and the guy who hit me still couldn't see me. i
want to put in a brighter light but was worried about longevity of the bulb
and the heat generated by more watts. the middle of the course is HID. it
is intended for off road from the guys selling them but they are able to
use a shielded bulb that isn't too much like day light or if i am really
mean i can buy the off road and just piss everybody off with that much
light. the situation is that replacement bulbs are big time expensive, in
the range of 150USD. the trade off is that these guys are supposed to go
2500+ hours for their life span and produce five to seven times as much
"white light" as a traditional halogen of comparable wattage. comparable i
think is seventy or eighty watts.
so if you have the means and the desire, do it because i don't think you
will regret doing it. they also have dual lamp setups if you really want
to go for it. i may if i have the means.
