Re: brake lever excessive travel



Brian,
My wife's RS has about 2600 on it. There is a bit of wear, but not much.
With the lever adjustment out as far as it will go (setting = 1), the brakes
are well engaged with the lever more than an inch from the grip. There is no
lever travel issue with the RS. In fact, with heavy winter gloves, one must
change the setting to 2 or 3, otherwise the lever is out too far to
comfortable reach. This issue of lever travel is not to my knowledge a
concern for 00 RS owners. And likely the 00 ST owners are not so affected
either. It is important to note that level travel and mushiness are separate
things, and no one has complained of mush, just travel. Once they
engage....they do engage!

When I first got it it seemed as though you just look at the
