Gas leak (from new fuel sender?)

I rode mine to the dealer and was fine. I did open my
garage and let the sucker air out for a coupla minutes
before I fired her up. Basically, though it smells
awful, this is a slow leak (unless you see a drip,
drip, drip in which case have it towed).

as fumes and there is the tell-tale puddle on the left
side of the 
bike.  I
know that most of you have towed your bikes back to
the dealer.  What 
is the
probability that something bad would happen if I
*rode* the bike to the
dealer?  It's a 10-mile ride.
