Re: Scott Oiler Question

My dealer fitted toward the rear under the right hand side panel. Peculiar
place really but I suppose I can just get to the adjustment wheel with a key
or something to fine tune it without taking off the panel. Toping up is
relatively simple and painless as the rubber bung can be easily removed and
then filled via the filler bottles' tube. So I suppose it is out of the way
and leaves other places free for storage of nick nacks.

The oiler tube is then brought forward and across the bike just behind the
fuse box and straight down to the rear cog via that strange silver coloured
gadget by the sprocket (what is it?). When I first saw that I thought it
was part of the oiler but I now know all the bikes have them. Make sure you
have the additional part of the oiler kit relevant to the ST.

If you have the Touring Kit Scott Oiler which goes behind the number plate,
I believe this makes the bike illegal as it pushes the number plate beyond
the illumination of the tail light so may fail an MOT or Old Bill might not
like, but that might be a risk you think is worth taking. The standard kit
should last a 1000 miles between top ups.
