thanks for the reassuring tip
think it was the workshop that told me over the phone about removing the
fairing - though that's not to say they'd ever done it before, so it might
have been guesswork on their part.
Will do it later this week, and they did sell me the kinky rubber bit that
fits on in between, thanks.
