Chances are, as Doug Bailey suggests, that the flickering neutral indicator
may be just a duff (or perhaps maladjusted?) neutral sensor -- doesn't sound
too serious, but the ECU thinks the bike is in gear when it really isn't.

The fact that the engine cuts out the moment you lower your sidestand
indicates that the sidestand switch is fine, and I can't imagine how a
clutch sensor could cause your the neutral indicator to flash.  When you are
in neutral, the neutral light is on regardless of the state of the clutch .
. .  or did I miss something?
