I thought while the '00 STs went to 19/43, the '00 RS came out with 18/43.  
Speculation was that this might differentiate the two bikes more.  In any 
case, if true, it would explain why the '99 ST and '00 RS posted times so 
close in Rider's roll on tests- they both may have had 18/43 final drive.  
Just a thought...
