When I bought my RS the shift was so stiff it made the top of my foot sore.
Luckily the good folk on this list had already warned me so I didn't panic -
I just kept on running her in nicely around the country lanes, with LOTS of
gear-changes. NOw (at 4,900 miles) the gear box is sweet and light and
generally gorgeous. I'm getting braver with clutchless up-changesnow, and I
am even able to shift from 1st to Neutral at standstill, at least most of
the time (I'm told that's the last thing to smoothe out). Since the engine
is still tight I guess runnig-instill ain't over. So stick with it - like a
fine wine, it keeps getting better.
