Re: shifting -- gets better?

My '99 ST transmission has smoothed out considerably now that I am
approaching 9000 km, but my biggest issue would be about the considerable
CLUNK that I get when I shift from neutral into 1st (or 2nd for that matter)
when at a standstill after the bike has fully warmed up. When it's the
engine's cold it's fine, and this doesn't seem to vary with weather
conditions. I thought it might be better after a fresh oil change, but it
doesn't seem so. I'm using Motul 10w40 semi-synthetic oil. When I read
this post I wondered about the straight clutch lever. Could it be that I
need a bit more leverage to completely disengage the clutch. The clutch
adjustment seems ok, but maybe I should try adjusting it a bit and see if it
makes a difference. What do you think?

Thanks in advance
Neil
