RKA vs Chase Harper Tankbags

I'm in the process of shopping for a tankbag. I want a tankbag for everyday use, to make my bike a viable alternative to the car. As such, it needs to be large enough to carry a laptop, a loaf of bread, shoes, a 2L bottle of pop, or books. But when not in serving in this capacity, its only going to have small stuff like tire gauge, map, lock, spare visor etc. and I want it have minimal height, since I already have a bit of a reach to the clipons. To fill this criteria, the tankbag needs to be at least 8.5 w x 11 L and as smallest height as possible.

Basically, I'm looking for a bag that can transform itself from small to large, as needed. Like many tankbags, the Triumph bag is too tall. I found two companies that make tankbags that can transform themselves from truly small to medium-large. RKA, makes a model that is 9.5 w x 13 L x 3 h in base form, but its collapsible second compartment provides an additional 5 h. The bag has nice lines, and looks well constructed, but the zipper expansion system seems a little awkward, and I wonder how it would handle odd shaped bulky packages.

Chase Harper makes a model which is 9 w x 13.5 L x 4 h in base form, but its collapsible second compartment provides another 6 h. I'm leaning toward the CH because its base compartment is a little a little bigger so it can accommodate my face shield. It also looks like it more easily accommodates odd loads because its expandability is adjustable via velcro instead of zipper.

I'd really like to hear the experiences of folks who have either of these bags, especially the CH.
