Risers

Just my $.02 worth. I've had the GenMar's on the bike almost since I
got the bike.. a year now and I can say that they have worked fine.
On a long ride at speed there is enough wind off the screen to take
all the weight off my hands. They look stock, if one even notices
them and they don't interfere with anything. The Heli bars may give
some more rise but for that kind of $$ ouch. They also in my NSHO
look lame. Lastly if the GenMar's don't give enough rise I think that
a less sporting bike might be in order.. I bought the ST because I
wanted a SPORT touring bike not a TOURING bike. I rode it before I
bought it and realized that an inch or so of rise would be all I
needed to get comfy. If I'd wanted a riding position with even less
forward lean I'd have bought a Trophy or kept the BMW R1100RT I'd
had. I find on long rides, more than 6 hours it's not my hands or
wrists getting tried but my knees or butt. Not meaning to rant...

Erik

PS: Not to say I wouldn't mind owning a BMW K1200LT for the really
LONG rides..nothing beats comfort :-))
