Right, the synthetic comes later. When I first got my bike I was concerned
about what type of break-in oil the dealer had used (if any at all), but
later found out that the bike came with factory-installed break-in oil. It
gets replaced with synthetic oil at first service.
As for fuel octane, not too long ago someone listed the URL for a site that
desricribed RON. Not sure if it was this e-mail list or the T5 list. I
apparently didn't save the URL. Maybe someone else has it. I read the
article and seem to remember concluding that I should use at least
'mid-grade', if not 'premium' unleaded. I think "R+N/2" corresponds to the
numbes you see on many gas pumps in North America. Having said that I don't
recall seeing 95 EVER (in Canada), so maybe that's why I settled on premium.
hmmm, I hope that helps
Neil
