those interested in mounting GPS units (and other things) should look
at the RAM mounts, sold by various places.  www.cycoactive.com carries
them -- they used to sell their own mounts, perhaps still do, but i
think they now recommend the RAM stuff.

i made my own mount for my GPS-III that straps to the front edge of
my tankbag (this is on my previous bike -- i haven't made a "customize
or buy" decision for a new tankbag for the RS yet).  works great, and
comes off with the tankbag for security.

i'll try and post some pictures -- i've been meaning to take some anyway.
