     The cracking rumour is due to a faulty batch early in the production 
     runs of the first Azaro. In some cases the rubber developed splits, 
     not just in the sidewall. All were replaced by Avon without quibble. 
     We're talking about one batch of tyres years ago, so lets not get it 
     out of proportion. A number of us had defective BT57s as OE on our STs 
     remember.
     
     As far as I know Avon are the only manufacturer who offer a warranty 
     on their tyres. If you get a puncture before wearing away 1mm of 
     thread the tyre is replaced FOC by the factory. That could have saved 
     a few listers some money already.
