Re: sprockets



My '00 RS came with 19 front 43 rear.
  
I changed the front to a 17.  17/43 is a
pretty common stock ratio; so it's not a
radical change to make.

You won't have to replace the chain.
My mechanic took out one link.  I've 
been told that's not necessary; but my
shop seemed to think it was advisable.
It may have been done to preserve the 
desired wheelbase.

I've been really happy with the lower
gearing.  You don't lose any top end;
you just drop top speed to 135 or so.
