Recall of Some 2000 Sprint ST's and RS's

I was just browsing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
(NHTSA) website, and decided to a search on 2000 sprint STs. I discovered
the following recall. An identically described recall is also listed for
the RS. Note that both appear to be in the early stages, since no
notification schedule has been submitted by Triumph yet. I don't recall
seeing discussions of these on the list. Have they already been discussed?

Year: 2000
Make: TRIUMPH
Model: SPRINT ST
Year of Recall: '00
Type of Report: Vehicle
Potential Number of Units Affected: 137

Summary:

Vehicle Description: Motorcycles. The final drive chain side plate was not
hardened correctly.
This chain could fracture causing a loss of drive to the rear wheel.
Dealers will replace the drive chains.
Triumph has not yet provided an owner notification schedule. Owners who take
their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do
not
receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Triumph at
1-770-631-9500. Also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration's Auto Safety Hotline at 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).

If you think you might be one of the affected 137, don't waste time
lubing/adjusting that chain -- you're going to get a new one anyway :-)
