Re: service costs.. WHAT !!!!!

I had my 6K service done at Freehold (NJ) Triumph. Here's the list:
Check lights, horn, indicators and instruments.
Check battery level.
Inspect fuel system for leaks, damage, etc.
Inspect cooling system.
Inspect throttle and chock cables.
Inspect brake pads.
Top off master cylinders.
Lube all grease joints.
Inspect wheels and tires.
Check for oil leaks.
Change oil and filter.
Check for oil leaks. (Take 2)
Inspect plugs.
Inspect drive chain.
Inspect headstock bearings.
Inspect forks.
Adjust idle.
Download latest tune.
Set CO%

And the damage is...
Shop labor USD193.20
Drain Washer .45
Oil Filter 8.00
Mobil1 4T 40.50
Sales Tax 14.53
TOTAL USD256.68

The interesting bits...
The drain washer and filter were both Honda parts p/n 94109-14000 and
15410-MM9-013 respectively. Brake pads 50% front 65% rear. Before anyone
makes any comments on my brake wear, consider that about 90% of my
mileage is commuting from Verona, NJ to Brooklyn, NY (approx. 23 miles,
one way; morning commute 35-45 minutes, evening 60-75 minutes). Plugs
were OK. At the bottom of the service sheet the tech wrote "Bike is
mint." The service manager told me that they could tell that the Blue
Devil is not abused.

Would I pay that figure again? You bet. The guys at Freehold have always
treated me with the utmost courtesy and respect. I have to travel 45
miles (one way) to them and I don't mind at all (beats the hell out of
the NYC commute). Besides, they threw in something extra for me this
time, but I'm sworn to secrecy. ;-)
