Keith, this is a common problem for boats, which have enclosed spaces subject to
mildew and rust. They use inexpensive electric dryers which are essentially a
plastic box with perforated sides and top and a flat metal plate inside that is
gently heated by house current. It doesn't draw much power, and the heating tends
to dry and circulate the air. When I had a boat I think I paid $20 US for one, and
it worked well in keeping things dry.
However, I was storing my boat inland, away from the ocean. When I had a storage
locker near the ocean, nothing could keep metal parts from corroding.
