I used the standard 45 liter bag for a 7 day trip and didn't use everything I 
brought.  I was riding solo, faced the bag toward the front of the bike 
(passenger part) and strapped my Triumph rainsuit and chain lube on the 
luggage rack.  I find the back to be very handy, as it has a zipped pouch 
very handy for sunglasses, glass cleaner, camera, etc.   john c
