I have a 99. the gearing changed after 99, but a lot of list time is devoted 
to changing back to 99 spec.  The front brake fluid reservoir is mounted 
differently.  pretty much the sum total.  if you buy the bike, read the 
owners manual and keep the clutch adjusted as it says ( very little freeplay) 
and you will love the bike.
