bulbs

I ran a 100/55 bulb in one of the lights on my RS & the high beam (which I 
almost always use) burned out in a couple months.  When removed to put in 
new bulb, the receptacle in the headlight unit was slightly burned,  I 
replaced it with a yellow 65/55 bulb (like I had been running in the other 
light) and new yellow bulb slowly became clear - within about ten 
miles!!.  SO, while I have 2 yellow bulbs in there, only one of them is 
still yellow.  Does anyone know if a slightly burned bulb receptacle would 
cause a yellow bulb to go clear?
