[ST] LD Rider Lost in Colorado (non-ST/RS)

Hi Guys & Gals,

Bruce Parker of OK has sent me a link to information concerning Jim
Young of South Dakota who dissapeared on a long distance ride out of
Montrose, Colorado on this past Saturday. Information can be found at

http://www.ldriders.com/index.html

Jim was reported missing in the early a.m. of Sunday. He left his
computer, etc., in his room in Montrose. The search is complicated by
the fact that Jim was on a new BMW GS and had a habit of not sticking to
the planned route, so they're having to search on only the planned
route, but dirt roads in the area since he might have taken a shortcut.
So far they've not had any luck locating him, even though they have
involved helocopters & planes in the search. So far, they have received
pledges of up to $12,000.00 to help pay for this, but as you will see if
you go to the website, this will be eaten up rather rapidly if the air
search continues.

The route included Hwy. 141, here the last confirmed glimse of him
occurred (Those of you who attended the Western Rallye will remember the
road), and from there it went into Utah, down into New Mexico, and back
up Hwy. 550 into Montrose. This is a large search area!!

I think it goes without saying that I hope they find him . . . .

This makes me glad that Richard & I are "built in" riding partners . . .

Lisa
