I thought the same thing, too, when my ST was new. But, in my experience 
I found that it just took a very long time for the rear pads to bed in 
and for the rotor to mate with the pads. Just keep using it a lot and it 
should get better.

Congrats on the new RS! Maybe Keith Winter (who has a new dawg name: 
Bass(et) Ale Dawg) will now have another RS to keep him company at next 
year's Western Rallye?
