Global Positioning System (Satellite Navigation system).
I use an eTrex Vista both in car and on bike, absolutely brilliant.
Plan your route on the CD (costs extra) then upload it to the GPS, and it
tells you when to turn etc.
The compass and speed indicator are fantastic, shows the true speed rather
than the speedo speed.
Also the eTrex vista ahs a trakbak and altimeter for hikers and skiers.
A brilliant piece of kit.
I truly thought it was a toy for men with too much money but I would not be
without it now in car, bike and bicycle.
