Re Mirror

Yes I've had the same problem but over came it by putting a small bolt 
through the centre hole with a large washer on the end that goes over
the protruding plastic with the hole in it and  another washer also large 
on the bottom with a nut.
When you tighten the nut it clamps the mirror in place.
No drilling No hard work.
